Dinos Look Strong, Beat Pronghorns at Home
Calgary Dinos 96 Lethbridge Pronghorns 80
Friday, Nov. 25
The Calgary Dinos big men came to play Friday night as the home-standing Dinos wore down the fast paced Pronghorns in an entertaining Canada West tilt at ‘The Jack’. Chris Wright led the points parade with 28, often against double team pressure. ‘CW’ also marked two
assists to his post partners.
Ross Bekkering, matched up against his older cousin Matt, was the dominant force on the boards for the Dinos in snaring 13 rebounds and blocking 3 shots. Ross also tallied 17 pts. for his finest performance of the season, thus far. Point guards Cody Darrah, who shot well (6/9 for 15 points) and Josh Feist ( 17 pts., 7 asst., 4 steals) also helped provide the spark for a late Dinos run in the second half.
The Calgary lead of 53-42 at half-time was down to 5 with 7 minutes left but a 12-2 run put Calgary in the clear. Lethbridge had Todd McLenaghan with 20 pts. and Scott MacKinnon with 22.
The teams travel to Lethbridge today for the 2nd of the home and home series 8:30 at the ‘Pit’ in Lethbridge.
