Dinos To Face Pronghorns in Two Key Mountain Division Games
The Lethbridge Pronghorns are in town Friday night for the first of two weekend games with the Dinos. Calgary ( 1-5 in league play) travels to Lethbridge on Saturday in a rare home and home weekend set.
Lethbridge is 1-3 in Canada West play and look to be shaping up as Calgary’s competition for the 3rd play-off spot in the Mountain Division. If either team is to catch Saskatchewan or Alberta, they need to turn things around quickly.
The ‘Horns are led by high scoring 6th man Matthew Bekkering, who has been deadly from 3 pt. range in the early season. Their other scoring threats are wing Tim Whitehead, and guard -forward Scott McKinnon. Lethbridge like to speed up the pace on offense, and will play a
pressure 2-3 zone at the defensive end.
The Dinos are without guard Whit Hornsberger, who has decided his injuries are too much to handle the strain of practice and games, and is no longer with the team. The point guard duties are in the hands of Cody Darrah and Josh Feist. The scoring has been stepped up by
Brian Finniss and Lindsay Thouret, and, as usual, Calgary will look to Chris Wright to play a big role on the inside.
