Mount Royal Cougars will visit the Dinos on Tuesday for a scrimmage to be held in the Red Gym with the start time at approximately 4:30 pm. The Cougars, defending ACAC champions, will feature experienced returnees and a couple of key recruits.

Coach Marc Dobell, in his 3rd year at the helm at MRC has guards Jeff Price and Josh Forster along with forwards Dawson Eden and Brett Kobe returning after providing significant contributions to last year’s success. Chris Armstrong has joined MRC after 1 year at the University of Lethbridge, where he saw limited playing time following a stellar career at Bert Church HS in Airdrie. Freshman additions include Jordan Hone, a scoring guard from E.P. Scarlett, and Hunter Jordan, a 6′5″ guard from Vancouver, B.C.

The Dinos will still be without the services of 2nd year forward Ross Bekkering, who is recovering for a broken finger and expected back in action sometime near the middle of October. Meanwhile, the Dinos will have a post rotation of four players …

Henry Bekkering - red shirt- 3rd yr., will play mostly at the perimeter in this scrimmage, which will be his last action until next season. The transfer from Taber via Eastern Washington Univ. has to sit out any games for the 2006-07 season. The Dinos back-court will feature 5th year returnees Josh Feist and Brian Finniss along with 4th year shooter Cody Darrah. Jeremy Odland, 4th year wing man, has looked good in practice, and should be tough on Tuesday.
