Dinos Win Battle of the Border
In their final pre-season tune up, the University of Calgary Dinos Men’s Basketball Team won the Battle of the Border tournament over the weekend with a 3-0 record against NAIA teams from Montana.
On the strength of a Robbie Sihota ‘double - double’, the host Calgary Dinos defeated the University of Great Falls Argos 76 - 67 to sweep three games with US teams and claim the first place in the ‘Battle of the Border’.
Sihota, who for the second straight game was the dominant force in a Dinos victory, scored 16 pts., grabbed 11 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots. Joe Schow continued his consistent hard work in the post in notching 18 pts. to go along with 8 boards. Josh Feist had another strong game at the point as he dished out 8 assists and made 3 steals.
In the other games Sunday afternoon the Lethbridge Pronghorns dispatched the Great Falls JV team 97 - 57, and the Alberta Golden Bears got by the Montana Tech Orediggers 78 - 69. For the tournament, both Alberta and Lethbridge finished 2 - 1, Tech and Great Falls were 1 - 2, the Great Falls JVs 0 - 3.

The Dinos travel to Victoria for a game with the Vikes this coming Friday to kick off their Canada West schedule, then take a ferry across to Vancouver for a Saturday date with the UBC T- Birds.
