The Dinos held as much as a 16 point lead in the first half, but 16 of 20 free throws for the Bears compared to 4 of 5 for the Dinos allowed the Bears to close the gap. Score at the half was 40 - 38 for Calgary.
Calgary had a huge game from point guard Josh Feist who scored 21 points and handed out 10 assists and added 3 steals. Other Dinos in double figures were Ross Bekkering with 15; Robbie with 15 and 12 from Sonny Khanghura. The Dinos outrebounded the Bears 39 - 27. This game snaps a 7 game losing streak for Calgary.
Golden Bear Tournament All Stars were awarded to Josh Feist and Ross Bekkering.

Guelph Gryphons 84 Calgary Diinos 78
The Dinos lost to the Guelph Gryphons in overtime of the first game of the Alberta Golden Bears Christmas tournament. Calgary led 34 - 32 at the half, but could not hold a 66 - 60 advantage in the last 2 minutes. Both teams committed 22 turnovers in the game, but Calgary led 45 - 41 with rebounds. The game turned on Guelph’s hot 3 -point shooting as the Gryphons potted 17 from beyond the arc.
Ross Bekkering led for Calgary with 17 points and 22 rebounds. Josh Feist had 21 points and Robbie Sihota added 16.

McGill Redmen 76 Calgary Dinos 74
Calgary trailed the Redmen 35 - 32 at the half. With a chance to tie or win in the last 3 seconds, a Josh Feist attempt rimmed out. The Dinos shot 47% for the game with 24 for 51. They were out rebounded 40 - 28. Lots of foul shooting with McGill 22 for 32 and Calgary 21 for 29 and 72%.
Joe Schow led the Dinos with 14 points while Ross Bekkering had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sonny Khanghura added 12 points while Josh Feist contributed 11 points and 6 assists along with Brian Finnis’ 7 points and 7 rebounds.
The Bears travel to Calgary next week to open the second half of the Canada West next Friday and Saturday.
